Actual patients before and 3 weeks after laser skin resurfacing. Your results may vary.

Lasers are commonly used for skin resurfacing. They remove layers of skin by "vaporizing" them, allowing new fresh skin to come to the surface. The heating action of the CO2 laser also helps tighten collagen under the skin and results in a tighter, smoother skin surface. This treatment corrects both uneven skin tones (splotches and irregularities) as well as fine to moderate wrinkles. We most commonly treat the entire face, although we can selectively treat around the mouth or eyes, depending on the need. We can also use Erbium on the "decollete"-neck & upper chest area. This type of treatment is deeper than chemical peels or IPL, and patients usually need some type of anesthesia for  comfort.  The most commonly used skin resurfacing lasers are listed below. We prefer the Erbium laser, which gives a good, deep peel with excellent results, but is less painful and has a shorter recovery time than the CO2. If downtime is not a major issue for you, the CO2 gives outstanding results. We can also blend erbium with CO2 in the same treatment.
